Support is one of the most important aspects when choosing a Shopping Cart platform for your business. After all, you don’t want to be left alone to figure out every glitch or every feature on your eCommerce platform.

Some shopping carts offer limited support based on the Plan you signed up for. Some other shopping carts don’t offer any support at all.

For the past year BigCommerce has been very aggressive about expanding it’s Support. They moved their Community forum from GetSatisfaction and brought it in-house. They have also added more people to their support staff. Launched their Chat support feature, and extended their phone support hours.

Currently BigCommerce provides phone support 7 days a week (Mon-Fri from 7am to 9pm, Sat from 9am to 6pm, and Sun from 9am to 2PM) on Central Time.

Their Chat support has been very useful too. They have knowledgeable people ready to solve questions via chat. This is a bit slower than phone support but it is quite useful when you are not in a hurry.

Their slowest support system is via email. And this is something all platforms struggle with.

Fortunately enough, BigCommerce considers Support Services a marketing tool and not a cost center. They realize that online merchants need a reliable support system that will keep them going when they need help.
